Kim Brouze

RKin, Athletic Therapist, CAT(c), RAC, Ontario Athletic Therapist Association Membership Director

As a Certified Athletic Therapist, Kim is equipped with the in-depth knowledge, education and training in the areas of the human musculoskeletal system, exercise physiology, biomechanics, concussion and basic emergency care.

She treats a wide range of patients from kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery. 

Kim uses various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription, bracing and taping. Her goal is to provide her patients with exceptional care and education in the prevention, assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.

Kim's works to help patients return to their usual activities of daily living, whether that means playing competitive sports or walking to the mailbox and back.

In addition to serving as the OATA’s Membership Director, Kim is a member of the OATA Concussion Working Group and is an evidence-based clinician launching a new concussion medical device and research on its efficacy to concussion care.

Kim will share how evolving and on-going revelations of sport concussion and mild traumatic brain injuries continue to transform all aspects of concussion management, from on-field evaluation through return-to-play- and-learn guidelines.

Kim will highlight important research influencing AT practice and predictors of outcome and treatment protocols. Kim will share how ATs use a patient-centered approach with individualized assessment, including risk factor analysis, neurocognitive testing, thorough symptom evaluation and unique treatment protocols that come with the AT profession’s benefit of being point of injury first responders.
